Day 2 Lots of signs of pines

Saturday, January 2 – Another shot at Billi’s cabin. This is what it was like when we first got there; ice and snow. It has been 40 degrees since midafternoon yesterday and now the ice is pretty much gone. There is still mushy snow all around though. The kids had a ball sleigh riding down the steep hill in front of the cabin. Lots of snowball fights were on the agenda too. We had loaded baked potatoes last night, sourdough pancakes this morning and then homemade chili tonight. The kids even did s’mores last night. They have several wood burning stoves and it was so nice and toasty in the cabins. The people they bought the place from had built a two room cabin with bathroom first to live in while they built the big cabin. So they actually bought two cabins. Bobbi’s family had a cabin all to themselves. We stayed up until after midnight watching movies and playing Wii. I think everyone slept like a log with all the fresh air and fun. What a great way to start out 2010.

I can’t think of a better way to start off 2010! The food sounded so yummy and spending time with your family playing Wii, snowball fights and sledding – what memories! I can’t wait to see all the photos you took.

I reallly love this photo. You can see the water droplets as well as the detail in the pine needles. Great shot!
