Day 111 Oh, That Tickles!!

Tuesday, April 21 – Took a truck load of compost up to Nick and Kristie tonight for their gardens. My heavens, Kristie already has lots of her plants started. She is such a fantastic gardener and is really getting itchy feet to get her hands in that soil again. Lily was in such a great mood. She is going to be 5 months in just a few days and can get all around the room by rolling. She is just so darned cute.

Day 110 It’s Raining (and pouring at times)

Did these shots for my Food Photography class. Something new for me and lots of fun. Walter was the ‘rainmaker’ and held the spinkler. He got a bit carried away and it looked like a hurricane at times. We finally figured out where the rain needed to come from and how much. They are the same peppers that I usd the day before for my still life shot. I ended up redoing the shoot to get what I wanted for my rain assignment photo for class. Yesterday was Kristie’s birthday and tonight we are going back up to Fort Benton with a load of manure for her garden.

Day 109 Food Photography Class Photos

Sunday, April 19th – Here are a couple of the photos that I took for my foods photography class assignment.

Walter was my assistant today for doing a rain shoot, which actually turned out. I am going to post a photo or two tomorrow from that set. You should have seen hiim outside hand holding the sprinkler and me yelling ‘go’ to create the rain. It is something I have always wanted to do and it wasn’t as hard as I thought. They are not perfect, but I think they are okay.

Day 108 Tristan’s Fishing Hole

Saturday, April 18 – This is Tristan’s favorite fishing hole; notice the lost bobber hanging in the tree. Now that we are getting some warmer weather, there should be some green grass coming.

Day 107 My Pretty Girl, Jade

Friday, April 17th – Here are some new shots of Jade that I did with my 100mm macro.

Marilynn update

Poor little Marilynn is having quite a time recovering. Yesterday she had blood draining out of her ear and had a fever again. Her daddy called the surgeon and the nurse said to not worry, it was normal to do that. She probably had a blister on her ear drum that broke; all due to the surgery trauma. She looked so sick to me; not eating still and had the chills. So Carl took her in to her regular pediatrician today and she has a massive ear infection and a ruptured ear drum. Thank goodness she is now on an antibiotic and should start to finally mend. They don’t think she will be back in school until next Monday. Poor little girl and all for just having her tonsils removed. I am hoping the she can finally enjoy some of that ice cream her daddy had stock piled for the occasion.

Day 106 Ah, Mother Nature, You Have To Be Kidding!

Thursday, March 16 – I will be really busy tomorrow and not home, so thought I better go ahead and post this early. We have so danged much snow again. It just quit a little while ago and I hope it stays that way. Thank heavens it is warm out and melting fast. Now bring on the mud!! This sprinkler head seems to be saying, “and you said it was Spring?”

Day 105 That Time of Year Again

Wednesday, April 15. They started working in the fields today right by my house getting ready to seed.  Two of our tractors were parked here this morning waiting for the men to get started. It is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, so I thought it would be good to post a prestorm photo. as you can see the storm clouds were building already and have been in the mountains all day. I started shooting when it was still rather dark out and continued until Mr. Sun made a brief appearance.

Day 104 Flowers on their last legs

I bought these flowers two weeks ago. to do some shots for class. They are definitely on their last legs and were just perfect for an early morning light shot. I used a black backdrop and just the light from my south facing window. The colors are still so vibrant even with the flowers almost dead.  I am going to post two shots; one that is a little tighter.

An after thought

Tristan claims that his cat, Patches, is responsible for the bruise under is left eye. I have my doubts about that, but I need to do some post processing and clone that out, I suppose.  I thought leaving it in, at this point, was just so him.  Plus, clone painting on a face is a real challenge.

The weather bug says we are in for another snow storm come Tuesday night and Wednesday. Walter has been saying we are going to get one more good one before spring really sets in. I should be able to get all those pregnant mommas in the shed for protection if needed. I have to remember that I am married to a farmer and we need moisture. But couldn’t it just come in the form of rain?
