Day 107 Not Just Another Pretty Face
This Warthog is definitely not just another pretty face. I need to find one of my shots of them running, as that distinctive tail is straight up in the air.

Everywhere we traveled there were people asking for candy or money along the road. Children had been well trained, even in the rural Masai villages. When they saw a vehicle coming, out they ran with hands out ready for whatever we were willing to share. This group of girls had money in mind. As you can see they were pretty happy with what they received. The funny thing is, they would turn down any bills that were not in good condition; no tears or wrinkles. We found that the same thing happened at businesses. If ever traveling to Africa, make sure that the bills you take along are new and crisp. I knew this ahead of time and made sure I did. I was surprised that even the children were picky about what they got.
This is what rural traffic was like in Tanzania. In town it was vehicles and bikes out here it was livestock.
I don’t think this would pass inspection for selling to the public in the USA. I am not sure if those are onions that the Masai woman is tending to, but they are definitely a tuber of some kind. I had a busy day yesterday at Bountiful Baskets. We had so many wonderful volunteers, which is so appreciated. We have been selling out every week. Â I am heading to Belt shortly to do the bookwork for the site with a couple of my backup people. I find being the VSC (volunteer site coordinator) very rewarding. I think Walter is still wondering why I needed another job.
I am pretty sure that this mother Olive Gorilla is grooming her baby. Be gentle, Mom. I took a drive to Helena today with a couple of my dearest friends. We had such a nice time; visiting and shopping. I haven’t been in a scrapbook store in a very long time and Ben Franklin is wonderful. Makes me think about doing scrapbooked recipes again. I am well prepared with lots of pretty food themed papers. The Costco stop is always a necessity. Thanks so much, Leslee and Curtis, for inviting me along. I so needed it.
This Olive Baboon refused to sit still for a shot. This was as close to still as I could get. I just didn’t have the heart to delete the shot, as I still like the lighting.
This Olive Baboon knows how to really lay back and relax. We had quite the snow storm last night. Â It was 13 degrees this morning and the roads were horrible. Four inches of snow makes everything look like winter again.
