Day 222 Dino Biffy

Thursday, August 9 – Just had to get a shot of the only facilities in the area. That is the front range of the Rockies behind and there is a swampy area close by that is home to lots of grizzly bears. This is the Ear Mountain area. We saw several fires burning in both the forest and on the grasslands.

Day 221 Diggin For Dinos

Wednesday, August 8 – My friend, Kimmie, treated Debbie and I to a fun filled day digging for dinosaur bones at Bynum. What a great day. I highly recommend it. They have a really nice museum there that is well worth the drive to see. We had a delicious breakfast, followed by an educational drive through the dig sites to learn how to identify bones. Then after lunch, we headed to the dig site and helped  dig for dinosaur eggs. It was in the 90’s and blazing hot with no shade. The kiddos from Florida had a blast. Thanks to Kimmie for this absolute Royal treat.

Day 220 Go Emma!!

Tuesday, August 7 – Way to go, Emma. She won the best of show over all the Junior photography black and white photos, even the bigger kiddos. This is the award that her sis, Becca, won last year. Both girls placed very well in lots of the categories. The winning shot is of her sis, Becca. Love this terrific shot, Emma. I would be proud to hang it on my wall, as I am sure your mom plans to do.

Day 219 BOOM!! Fireworks!!

Monday, August 6 – Here is what the kiddos were watching out that back seat window. The 4th of July fireworks. These were shot with my G11, handheld, from the car window. Boy, did those little guys think this was neat or what. Walter wouldn’t let them buy any fireworks because of the fire danger this year. Busy week here. I have spent three days setting up the photography exhibit at the fair as assistant superintendent. Two days of helping the judges and then a day judging scrapbooking/cards along with my friend, Debbie. She is here for her annual visit and we worked it out so that she could help me judge and give a hand all week too. It’s back to the photography building today and final touchups.

Sunday, August 5 – The kids were here for the 4th of July festivities. Here they are waiting for what comes next.

Day 217 Montana Road Construction

Saturday, August 4 – Seems that everywhere you go in Montana, this time of year, there is road construction. This was on the way to Harlowtown.

Day 216 Backseat Electronics

Friday, August 3 – Here is a great way to keep kiddos occupied during a 8 hour drive. Poor Tristan still has his war wounds from Lily’s fingernails.

Day 215 Mount Rushmore Enjoyment

Thursday, August 2 – One last glimpse of the gang at Mount Rushmore. A pretty posed photo, I know, but it was all I could get them to do.

Day 214 New Haircut

Wednesday, August 1 – This next week is going to be very busy with judging at the fair and also being asst. superintendent for the photography and all the prep that goes with that. I thought I better get a bit ahead with my blog. Tristan got a new haircut for the summer hot weather. I think he looks very handsome.

Day 213 Kind of Interesting Clouds

Tuesday, July 31 – A rather interesting cloud formation including lightning close to the Highwoods.
