Day 213 Tiffany’s Boys

Saturday, August 1st – a new month is beginning and I thought this would be a great way to start it out. I did a photo shoot for daughter, Tiffany, this afternoon of her 6 month old twin boys, Bryton and Gage. What big, healthy lads they are too, as you can see by the photos. I had a heck of a time chosing which ones to put up here. They turned out so darned cute. Bryton loves the camera and Gage isn’t so sure. The first two photos are of Gage and next comes Bryton. Be sure to click on each photo to enlarge them for viewing. Enjoy!!!

Day 212 More Lily photos, but not Lily Jade

Friday, July 31 – Can’t believe we are at the last day of another month. Where did the days go? It rained again last night; another inch here at the house. The guys finished the worst of the saw fly wheat, so Walter isn’t too upset with the moisture. Now we need some heat to get harvest underway. The custom cutters called yesterday and are heading up this way from Hardin. It is supposed to be 90 tomorrow. I am going to post some more of the Lily photos today to say goodbye to July.

Day 211 Contemplating

Thursday, July 30 – Here is one I took in Missoula at the Photowalk. I spotted this little girl contemplating what to do with all that tempting water right within reach. I used selective focus on the girl and the water. The weather is still cool here, but the men were back swathing by noon today and hopefully will finish the grain tomorrow. We just need some warm weather to finish the ripening for the combines. I am off to Helena tomorrow to pick up some scrapbook supplies for this weekend’s crop. Debbie and I had lunch with Jenn and Melissa today and then a nice visit with Leslee and Caitlin. We had cows to run in this morning again. I swear they know when the men are tied up with field work.

Day 210 Jenn’s Lily

Wednesday, July 29 – I am posting some photos that I shot for Jenn of a lily that Dan gave her. Pretty flower and fun to do. Debbie arrived safe and sound today; 2 hours late. That darned train seems to be known for that. It was better than the 4 hours last year when she was going home though. Makes it nice for some Shelby shopping to pass the time. We made it to Eddy’s tonight for a spaghetti supper which was really good. I think it will be early to bed, as Deb hasn’t had any sleep from riding the train all night.

Day 209 Heading to the Mountains

Tuesday, July 27 – Here are some shots from last week when we were moving the cattle to the mountain pasture.  There is a photo of a group of calves waiting to load, a photo of the loading chute that the semi backs up to, and Walter’s horse or the closest thing he gets to a horse anymore. Funny thing is, he bought that 4 wheeler for me and I am still on a horse and he rides it. I am heading out to Shelby tomorrow morning to pick Debbie up from the train. I hope that the weather cooperates. There is a flash flood warning for the Highwoods today. The culvert might have washed out at our cabin again. We had one heck of a storm last night. The rain gauge says 3 inches at the shop. Saw a little bit of hail right at the beginning, but don’t know if there was any damage or not. Walter is just grateful that he got as many acres swathed as he did. There is a whole lot of almost ripe grain that is now flat from that storm; which is what everyone was worried about with the saw flies making the stems so weak.

Day 208 Griz Country

Monday, July 27 – Here are the two photos that I entered for my PhotoWalk. They represented what Missoula meant to me. Having had children that attended school there, I know that bikes are the main means of transportation. The Griz statue was in a park right where we walked and where the block party was. He looks pretty big from my low perspective in this photo. I am including a couple more shots that I considered. That silhouetted building is the same one that is with the Griz statue. The other shot is just of the statue with some pretty sky.  I am off to a family reunion today after looking after Billi’s cat this morning. I am so thankful that she has been doing fine all weekend. The bull at the barn got out this morning, so I have already been on my horse. Great morning to be doing that, though, as it is cooler out.

Day 207 A Nap In The Park

Sunday, July 26 – Went to the movie with Roberta last night; Miss Potter. Great movie that I would highly recommend.  It poured rain in town and I noticed some leaves off trees, so there must have been some hail too. Walter had not a drop where he was swathing, but there were puddles at my house. Am heading in to give Scout some fluids and take Jenn her birthday gift, as soon as chores are done. Here is a shot from the photo walk. This fellow had the right idea of how to spend a hot evening in Missoula. Still not the ones that I put up on the site though. Those will be here tomorrow. I haven’t made my final decision yet. Debbie will be coming on Tuesday, so just a couple more days now. I am so excited to have her here. It has been far too long since we have seen each other.

Day 206 Yarrow

Saturday, July 25 – Here are a couple of shots of Yarrow blooming in Missoula that I took last weekend. Lots more Missoula shots to come. It has taken me so long to get through all of them. I have to upload two for the contest that they are having. Each person can enter two that they shot during the walk. Our leader choses one that goes on to the world wide competition. The grand prize is over $11,000 worth of photo related items. I have one of mine picked, but still am uncertain of the 2nd one. I will post them when I get them entered.

Day 205 What is that pretty flower in your garden?

Friday, July 24 – What could be prettier than Brooke in a flower garden?  Brooke, we need to get together to do another photo shoot really soon. Okay?

Day 204 My New Haircut!

Thursday, July 23 – Here is another shot of that new special new haircut that Tristan is now sporting. He has the funniest expressions at times, and this was one. I spent all afternoon judging cards and scrapbooking at the fair. There were lovely entries and everything went very smoothly. It was very hard to decide on the Best of Show. The last three cards were almost impossible to chose between. I now need to sit down and do some revamping for next year’s catagories, as they asked for some changes. I am looking forward to some down time the next couple of days.
