Day 214 A Different Aloe View

Here is another shot of the ancient aloe at the Carmel Mission. Love this plant. The fair is chugging along. Granddaughter Marilynn won people’s choice yesterday for her leaf photo. The three girl cousins did very well exhibiting their photography talent. Becca had best of show in the digital and Emma placed 2nd in prints.

Day 212 Which Is Better?

The heavy fog was rolling on one evening as we headed out to shoot waves. The golf course near by yielded some pretty cool trees to enjoy. I am not sure which I like better; black and white or color here. Off to the fair again. Seven more days!

Day 210 Alcatraz in the Fog

We tried to take a tour to Alcatraz, but it was book a month out. Too bad, but I did get a few shots in the fog of the island from Fort Point. The fair opens tonight and the fun begins. I have canvases to go in today to be put up and then the building should be set.

Day 209 Hummer on a Branch

Here is another shot of that Hummingbird at the Carmel Mission. Wish the little bugger would have moved his bill just a little bit. Oh, well, you really don’t have much control over posing a hummingbird. Be sure to click on the pic to take a closer look. Fair is going very well. We have the photos all up and I am getting my canvas’s ready tonight to take in for exhibit. We decided that the judges should show some of their wares. Being a judge, I guess I need to oblige.

Day 207 The Fog Rolls In

We just could not get away from fog in Carmel. Loved it for the diffused light too. You can see it rolling in here. Future shots will show how thick it got. Fair prep is rolling right along. We are finished with the two days of judging and will be hanging photos today. It was quite the job getting all the digital files ready.

Day 206 Carmel Mission Chapel

A little different view of the Carmel Mission Chapel. This was taken from the little cemetery right next to the main building. We arrived early before it even opened and shot the beautiful flowers outside. Glad we did, as the crowds came very soon and the parking became a problem.

Day 205 Lots of Green

This was in a very secluded spot in Muir Woods. The light filters through the trees here until about 9:30am and then things get just too bright to photograph. It reminds me of the trip I took to Silver Falls State Park in Oregon with Bryan Peterson.
