Day 1 of Year 2010 – A Pine Tree Silhouette

Friday, January 1, 2010 – We are spending the first day of 2010 with Bobbi and Billi and their families at Billi and Brad’s new cabin. It is beautiful there and I enjoy spending time with the grandkids so much. This shot is from off the deck of the cabin. They even have trees that are growing right through the deck and the cabin itself. You can watch the squirrels run up the tree that is enclosed in glass in the sun room. I will try to get a shot of that this time.

A New Year Begins; Welcome 2010!!!

Tomorrow is a brand new year; 2010! I can not believe how fast 2009 went. We had a set of twin grandsons born this year and lost Walter’s dad. I went on a Caribbean cruise, did a photo workshop in Portland and even did a photo walk in Missoula. Spent some wonderful times with good friends and family.  I hope this coming year will bring some memorable times too. There will be a Panama Canal cruise, some online photo classes and a photo workshop to Glacier. I sure hope we can do that Grand Canyon trip this fall too. I am so looking forward to doing another photo year. Thanks to all who have taken an occasional peek here too. Check back every so often to see what is going on at my house.

Day 365 Marilynn, The Final Day of the Year is all Yours!

Thursday, December 31 – Marilynn gets the honor of having the final PAD of 2009. I think that by now you are in Florida enjoying DisneyWorld. These were shots from her school Christmas program. The lighting is terrible in the gym and these are definitely snapshots. She had a very special talking part and really got in to the performance. She has the most gorgeous blond hair and is getting so tall. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. I am so thankful for weathering another year in fairly good shape. I am especially grateful for all 10 of my beautiful grandchildren.

Day 364 Chef of the Grand Union and His Side Kick

Wednesday, December 30 – Tristan often tells people that he is Tristan, the chef of the Grand Union. Where in the world did he came up with that one? He also insists that he doesn’t have a middle name. That is a 4 year old for you. He and Lily had a great time opening up presents. Lily just had her first birthday and an earlier Christmas gathering with relatives, so she knows very well what it is all about. She is such a ‘girl’ and had on the cutest little Christmas dress that she even kept clean. Tristan was pretty thrilled with his gifts.  I am not sure that his mom was overly thrilled with what I came up with; but he sure was. Can’t go wrong with a rifle and pistol.

Day 363 Chase’s Turn Next

Tuesday, December 29 – Just a couple more days and we will be leaving 2009 in the dust. It is Chase’s turn for a PAD. He is grown into quite the handsome young man.  He got a new Acer computer for Christmas and, as you can see, he was pretty thrilled with it. Thank heavens his Grandma Robyn is up with the times and has internet, so he could  get on right out of the box.  Brynn got a new netbook computer( as did Brooke) and she and Chase sure were having fun with them, as you can see. A little fatherly advice from Gregg helped too, as he is a whiz with computers. It is a beautiful day out; lots of sunshine and it is 24 degrees at noon. I think I heard that we are going to see some above freezing temps with a southwest wind this week.

Day 362 Christmas Fun With Bryton and Gage

Monday, December 28 – Twins, Gage and Bryton, had a great time opening presents. Bryton is sure enjoying his new sled. Gage thinks that the wrapping paper might be the coolest present ever. They are getting all practiced up for their first birthday next month. They are both at the standing stage now and crawling everywhere. Tiffany is going to have her hands full chasing them in 2010. What little blessings they truly are.

How about next year?

Hey, Curtis, are we going to do a PAD next year?  I have loved doing this one for 2009. Come on, let’s commit to doing it again!!  I feel like I really accomplished something with this project. I will cherish the photos that I took throughout this year. I have loved sharing them with who ever took the time to take a peek. I hope that I have grown as a photographer this year.

Day 361 I Love My Sis

Sunday, December 27 – Here are some Christmas Eve shots of 4 of the granddaughters. As you can see Becca and Emma have lots of sisterly love, as do Brooke and Brynn.  It is hard to believe that there are only a few days left in 2009.

Day 360 A Sea Of Snow; Waves And All

Saturday, December 26 – The day after Christmas and the house is all picked up already. I guess that is one advantage to have your children grown. I have no toy messes to deal with anymore. We had a lovely time at Aimee’s for Christmas and got to spend another day with Mom and Dad. Brent fixed prime rib in the smoker and we had so much food. Wendy’s boys brought there Wii along and everyone participated in everything from rowing to archery. Grandpa Bob even did a bit of shooting with the bow. The sun is out today and it looks to be another gorgeous day. I just wish it would warm up and melt this ice.  These shots are from right out in front of my house.
