Day 332 Happy Thanksgiving

What a beautiful Thanksgiving morning. I am going to appreciate the weather today, as we have really cold subzero forecast for next week. Yuck!! I am so not ready for winter. I thought I would share this shot  of a orchid at Herman’s Flowers that I did last Sunday. Doesn’t it look like a little soldier with a helmet looking at you? The camera club went on an outing there that was so much fun. Thanks so much to Connie, the owner and to Gary and Pauletta for arranging such a great experience. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Now off to eat some turkey!!

Day 331 Missing The Boys

My daughter was here for 5 days with the twin grandsons. I am missing them terribly today. Photo is courtesy of Becca and will be on their Christmas cards this year. Good capture of their personalities, don’t you think?

Day 330 Cacti

There are lots of cacti in Death Valley and Alabama Hills. These were just a few I found.

Alabama Hills and a pretty neat rock formation.

Day 328 Footprints in The Sand

No wind in Death Valley all week and that is not a good thing. What you get in lots of footprints in the dunes. I did find this one isolated print. So what makes that footprint look like it raised instead of an imprint like it really was?

Day 327 Sunrise at Bad Water

Some lovely sunrises occur in Death Valley with lots of super clouds to help that out. Notice the photographer on the horizon?

Day 326 Look At That Light

The sun was setting and hit these mountains just right. This was at the Ubehebe Crater.

Day 325 Good Morning, Sunshine

This seems pretty appropriate today, with the temps hovering near zero and the snow coming down. No sunshine or warmth here. This shot is from the Alabama Hills. That new 70-300L is mighty clear.

Day 324 More Playing In Rhyolite

Here we used a magenta gel on a flashlight. Pretty fun stuff.

Day 323 Playing With Trucks

What do you get when you have a group of photographers, a strobe, a gel, a tripod and an old truck? Some pretty neat shots! This one shows my assistant ghosted by the front wheel while he was flashing under the truck. I have so many of these shots, but thought this one was fun, because it included him.
