Day 158 Time To Eat
Tuesday, June 7 – Here was the last meal that I had in Rome at a little high end restaurant in my hotel. Funny thing about Italy; the fancy restaurants don’t open until 7 and most people come between 8 and 9 pm. You have a antipasta first, which is an appetizer, then a first course of pasta and then a 2nd and then the main dish and then dessert. And of course then there is Italian bread which has no salt and you don’t put butter on it, but dip in olive oil instead.  I didn’t follow order exactly and began with a pasta and then had another for my main dish. I also had a fruit salad for dessert and just had to have french fries. They have the most amazing fries in Italy. Someone told me that they fry them in olive oil individually. I don’t know what the secret is, but they are very good. Here is my last Italiano meal. It was plated so beautifully; as son, Nick, says, presentation is very important and it sure was here.
