I’m Back

We got home really late last night. It is hard to believe we were really gone 10 days. The flight home wasn’t bad. The airline had booked us on two different flights. I was supposed to be home in the morning and Walter at night. We switched it so that we could ride together and spend the day at IKEA and did that last minute stuff at the MOA. While I was gone, my sis cut down my big ficus tree in my atrium; the one that reached up to the ceiling. IT IS GONE!! The room looks so bare and I shed some tears. I loved my tree!! She gave me hers to replace it. That one is only 6 feet tall; a bit different than the one that went all two stories of my house. The big tree had scale really bad and had ruined my carpet with the sap that was dripping all the time. Now I can get a new carpet and not have to worry. But I sure do miss my tree. The photos are loading from one of the memory cards and I will get my Blog updated. I intended to do it yesterday, but the internet at the Minneapolis airport isn’t free and then my battery went dead in my laptop on the plane. So no loading of photos to the computer happened. I am such a fanatic about being on time, that this is driving me crazy.

Day 163 Off To MOA

Friday, June 12- I am sitting in the subway level of the Mayo Clinic Gonda building waiting for Walter to finish his eye exam and then we are heading off to the Mall of America for a shop till you drop weekend. I took these of the Plummer building yesterday. It was actually the first Mayo Clinic building. Anyone who knows me knows how afraid of height I am so I had to include that shot of the ‘little’ people down on the street. We were up on the 19th floor of the Gonda looking down through the windows of the waiting area. What a view!!

Day 162 Rochester Greenery

Thursday, June 11- I snapped this shot of some greenery by the Mayo building. Things are really slow growing this year, as it has been so cold. They just are getting the plants set out. So I have not found the flowers to shoot that I thought I would.

Day 161 Mayo Silhouette

Wednesday, June 10 – I am finally finished with all my tests and have seen the doc for the last time. The camera came out this morning right before it got light out and I shot this silhouette of the clinic on the skyline just as the sun came up. The buildings here are so high and there are so many trees that it is hard to get the whole buildings in shots. I will try more tomorrow.

Day 160 Rain

Tuesday, June9 – We left in rain and it poured here in Rochester all day yesterday. Had tests all day yesterday and more today. Walter is very impressed with Mayo. He even had his hearing tested, eyes and snoring are next. I hope to finally get to eat something later today. Might even haul the camera out. I took this one out our window in the plane before we took off. It was actually snowing at home when we left.

Day 159 Not a black Dahlia!!

Monday, June 8 – An early post again! I should be back on track by Tuesday and with some Minnesota photos by then. This Dahlia was just begging to pose when I saw it at Walmart. They were just unloading a semi of plants from Salem, UT and this one caught my eye. Of course, it would have some orange involved.

Day 158 Couldn’t be a better day for Lilacs

Sunday, June 7 – I am off to Rochester, MN tomorrow  and hope that the weather is better than it is today. It has been snowing out since I did chores this morning.  I am posting for tomorrow and Monday, as I probably will be too busy to do so for the next couple of days.  I sure am glad that my sis brought these yesterday when the weather was nice and we could shoot them without snowflakes.  Most of mine froze and what is there is at the top of the bush where I can not shoot. I love the variance in colors as they open.

Day 157 Fluffy Poppies

Saturday, June 6 – One more day until we board the plane for Rochester. There is a winter weather advisory for tomorrow and tomorrow night. Can’t believe they are calling for snow. We are high enough that we might actually have some of the white stuff on the greass.  I still have the camera gear to get packed up for our trip.  I don’t go anywhere without my camera anymore. I don’t think I have ever taken it with me on any of my trips to Mayo before. I have my first Lensbaby class assignment due while I am gone. I would imagine there will be lots of subjects to shoot. These were taken with my 100mm macro  using natural light and a reflector.

Day 156 Disco Chick

Friday, June5 – For a change of pace, this is a photo of Disco, one of my mares at the barn. She is thoroughly enjoying the green grass. I just heard the latest weather, so she better be enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. It is supposed to rain for the next three days and there is even a chance of snow accumulation on Saturday night with freezing temps. Farmer Walter is worried about the grain crop. I am all packed for our trip. Chase is getting some special award tomorrow morning at East that I am going to attend.
