Day 155 He’s stolen Grandma’s heart!

Thursday, June 4 – Only 3 more days until we fly out to Mayo Clinic. The branding is all done and the cows out to pasture. Life is good and the weather is beautiful. I need to start thinking about packing and how I am going to take my camera gear along. You have seen that Nikon ad with Ashton packing just a pair of underware. I won’t be that bad though. My new Lensbaby composer came on Monday and my class starts Friday. I am anxious to learn how to use it. Looks like lots of fun and will be easy to pack in it’s little hard case. I decided to take a break today from flowers and use that cutie, Tristan.

Day 154 The Sunflower Zoom

Wednesday, June 3 – Sounds like some new dance! Here are those same wild sunflowers that I used for Monets yesterday only using the zooming technique this time. We finished branding today and turned the 2 year olds out to pasture. It was a very long day and my feet are killing me. I took a shower and some Motrin and am heading to bed at 7 pm.  I guess I am showing my age. Even got the two heifers for today AI’d before I left the barn. We are hauling more cattle out tomorrow, so my work is never done it seems. At least it isn’t so hot today and that nice breeze was very welcomed.

Day 153 Wild Sunflower Monet

Tuesday, May 2 – Another day of branding, so I am posting these Monday afternoon. I had to do some Monet shots for my flowers class. These were taken in the pasture right in front of my house in a big patch of wild sunflowers. This is so out of my comfort zone shooting such abstract shots. My teachers both liked them, so I guess they are okay. Tomorrow will bring zooming shots.
