Day 51 I Like The View From Up Here

Saturday, February 20 – One has to wonder how that little tree got started growing way up there?  He/she seems to like the view from way up on high. This one was taken in Columbia while we were walking down the streets of the city.  Tristan and Lily are on their way to spend the night. I am excited, as I need some subjects for my class assignment that is due on Sunday. I have some taken, but am not sure they are good enough. This week is selective focus and shooting through. I got to use my Lensbaby for this lesson which is something I always like. It is snowing again today. We got another inch of fresh snow overnight. Three new calves, which is typical when it storms.

Day 50 Fast Car Wash – Cartagena, Columbia Style

Friday, February 18 – Walter just had to have some photos of the car wash we went by on our tour of Cartagena, Columbia. As you can see, it was a very busy place.  We went on an independant bus tour of the city instead of a cruise ship arranged one. We visited the same places they did, as we ran in to some of our fellow passengers. Lots of churches, old building and a fort. We saw so many really sad situations where people were missing limbs and begging in the streets. This is a beautiful country with so many beautiful people. The waiter we had our first night at the motel in Fort Lauderdale was from Columbia and told us about just grabbing a tour like we did. He told us how excellent and difficult the education is in his home country. He found that the university he is currently attending in Florida to be so easy compared to the once he had gone to in Columbia.

Day 49 My Fellow Cruiser

Thursday, February 18 – Here is a shot of Cheryl just before we headed out to go on our excursion in Cartegena, Columbia.

Day 48 Our Cruise Ship

Wednesday, February 17 – Here are a couple of shots from Aruba.  The first shot is of the cruise ship that we were on, the Island Princess. It was specially built to fit through the Panama Canal, so it is narrow and long. Cheryl and I found the boat that is in that 2nd picture and figured that was more Walter’s style of cruise ship. There is another winter storm coming this afternoon. The weather bug is calling for around 6 inches of snow by morning. I have been doing limited chores lately, as my knee is really giving me problems. Guess I need to pay a visit to the doc to find out what is going on. I also have a bug and a bad cough. There was a young girl with a bad cough riding behind me on the plane home and I would bet that is where I caught it. I sure wish people would wear masks or stay off planes when they are sick.

Day 47 Arriving at Aruba

Tuesday, February 16 – Here is a bouy that we passed as we came in to the harbor at Aruba. The color of the ocean varies from place to place; the Jamaican waters were very different than these that were greenish. I am finally starting to look at my photos. It is going to be quite a task to go through all of them.

Day 46 What Markers?

Monday, February 15 – I bought Tristan a new set of 36 markers that he absolutely loves to color with. He got a little carried away this time. The hands were after he washed them. You have to wonder what a child is thinking when they color their hands like that. He can not have wanted to have pink hands; green maybe, but definitely not pink. He would have made a great vampire for Halloween.

Day 45 Hot, Hot, Hot

Sunday, February 14 – Happy Valentine’s Day. The kiddos went home today and the house is so quiet tonight. I miss them terribly already. My photo assignment this week was abstracts. I took these last night of our gas fireplace.

Day 44 I Guess They Are Here To Stay

Saturday, February 13 – Jade has finally decided that these kids are here to stay and has come out of hiding even during the day. She usually cuddles next to Lily in my bed and then hides all day. Now she is right here in the middle of everything. Here she is watching Tristan and Lily get ready for their nightly bath in grandma’s big bubble tub.

Day 43 Almost 5

Friday, February 12 – Tristan is pretty excited to be turning five soon. He tells me that it is in a couple of months and he is right. He is definitely wears the ‘big brother’ hat now. He and Lily have been true angels during their stay with grandpon and grandma.  I have not had time to go through my cruise photos yet, so those will be coming next week.

Day 42 Me and My Brother

Thursday, February 11 – Lily and Tristan have gotten to be such a kick playing together. They decided that the guest bedroom bed was a great place to hang out together. What a couple of cuties. I love how blue Tristan’s eyes are, in contrast to those dark brown ones of Lily’s. Notice the pink colored hand? The markers attached Tristan, I guess.
