Day 287 On The Way To Camera Club

Thursday, October 14 – I took this on the way to Camera Club tonight of a typical Montana sunset. Gotta love those colors. I was pretty excited tonight, as I won an honorable mention for my photo of Tristan and the fly swatter. We have a contest each month where each member submits 4 photos that are sent to another club for judging. I did not know that it was a contest; just a critiquing. But was pretty surprised when I won one of the  ribbons that were awarded. That was pretty exciting considering there were some outstanding compositions submitted. I feel pretty intimidated by the other members’ work.  One of the members from Billings emailed me today to say that I should be very honored to receive a HM my first time out.  I was hostess tonight and brought brownies and chocolate cherry cake. I am really enjoying this group and am glad that I joined. I can learn so much from all the seasoned phototographers that have been shooting  for years.

Day 286 Aimee’s Treasure Chest

Wednesday, October 13 – Here is Lily’s new brown dress that she got for my Aunt Ruth’s memorial service. She looked so darned cute with her big brown eyes that matched it. We spent some time at Aimee’s house before playing with a little treasure chest full of jewels.

Behind A Bit

I have been so busy working calves getting ready to ship next week that I haven’t even had time to download a memory card. I will try to have my photos up and running again tomorrow and do some catching up.

Day 285 Now That Is A Sunset

Tuesday, October 13 – Here is a sunset taken with my wide angle 17-40L. Gotta love a Montana Sunset. I can not wait to get some of those Arizona ones too. I need to start using this lens more.  Maybe can get some use from it during my new night photography class.

Day 284 Happy Thanksgiving, Canada

Monday, October 12 – This is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. I know Leslee and Curtis celebrate it. I can almost smell the turkey. They sure have it great; they get to have 2 turkey days each year. I bet Nicholas is going to love it this year. Here is a cat tail shot from my pond. Gotta love those cat tails in the early morning light.

Day 283 10-10-10

Sunday, October 11 – What a strange thing to write 10-10-10 today. This is the only month in 800 some years when there will be 5 Fridays, Saturday and Sundays. A very special month, indeed. I finished up a 4 days scrapbooking retreat in Helena yesterday and am now recouping. It really isn’t too bad, other than my knee is giving me fits. Here is a shot from the barnyard of a weed with the shed as a background.

Day 282 Wheee!!!!

Saturday, October 10 – What a great time the cousins had the park when Tiff came to visit. As you can see here, they are some wild kiddos. That smile on Gage’s face says it all. Don’t you just love that wild hair of Lily’s as she came down the slide? I barely got a shot off of Bryton, who loved the tunnel slide. I never could get Tristan to slow down enough to get a picture of him. Sorry, Tristan, maybe next time.

Day 281 The Last Flowers Of Fall

Friday, October 9 – I still can’t believe we have not had a killing frost here yet. I am so enjoying the flowers still which doesn’t always happen in October. The colors seem extra vibrant this year, for some reason. I am going to spend some time in the next week working on the wedding scrapbook that I took the photos for. Brynn and I are having lunch at her school tomorrow!! It is always so much fun eating with Brynn.

Day 280 Fall On The Missouri

Thursday, October 7 – The foliage along the river is gorgeous right now. I shot these before the rain showers started. Tristan and Lily wanted to go see Shep’s burial site yesterday, so we walked to that and then went shooting along the river. I didn’t realize what a long hike that is to the actual memorial and a bit narrow too. At least, when you are as terrified of heights as I am, it seemed long and very precarious. I am going to miss those two kiddos so much. They were sure excited and happy to see their mom and dad this morning.

Day 279 Bryton and Gage Are Coming!!

Wednesday, October 6 – Tiffany is working in town this week, so the boys will be spending the days with me. Sure brings back memories of when my girls were that age. There is nothing quite like twins for being busy. I took these last week when they were in Fort Benton visiting me. Those two can EAT!! Holy cow!! They are amazing.
