Day 325 A Nice Place To Roost

Sunday, November 21 – I wouldn’t do well as a bird. There is no way that I would be up on top of those trees, I don’t care how good a view it is from there. A shot with my G11 through my hotel window in Rochester, MN. Another bitter cold day here. It  is right at 10 below right now. The sun is shining and no wind though. That will come in the middle of the week though.

Day 324 Emma At The Vortex

Saturday, November 20 – Walter and Brad are off hunting elk this morning. Not something I would want to be doing at zero degrees. They went goose hunting yesterday when it was below zero and came home chilled to the bone. Hunters!!! I am staying inside where it is warm.  I did get my registered calves weaned yesterday; the cows were waiting by the corral in the morning and it was pretty easy to just put the calves in.  Now they have shelter and lots of water and hay. Here are some shots I took at the airport vortex in Sedona. Emma really got into the mediation idea and built a little tower like the one someone else had made. Emma, you are so funny.

Day 323 Enjoying The Grand Canyon

Friday, November 19 – Woke to 18 below this morning. I am heading out to do chores and dreading it. I just don’t do cold well. Here are a couple of shots from the Grand Canyon. I spotted this tree that was just begging to be included in a shot. Walter sure looks like he was enjoying his first trip to this awesome place, doesn’t he?

Day 322 What A Beautiful Place

Thursday, November 18 – Nick will be on his way to his new job in Big Sky tomorrow.  Lily stayed here with me while they packed up the UHaul. I have the two cats also, but haven’t seen them all day. Everyone will be here tonight and then off they will go come morning. I am going to miss those kiddos so much. Lily will be turning 2 a week from today. I am sure that Tristan is going to like his new school. Everyone in the school gets a free ski pass and part of their PE program is ski lessons. Isn’t that the greatest?  It is all white and very cold out today and I just don’t feel like taking the camera out there.  Here are three shots from the airport overlook that I shot of Sedona. I think it is one of the prettiest places on earth.

Day 321 Madonna and Child

Wednesday, November 17 – Here are some shots of the Madonna and Child formation just outside of the Chapel on the Hill in Sedona.  Becca took these and aren’t they great?!! It is so cold outside; 20 degrees and blowing like crazy. We had alot of rain overight which is now frozen as ice. Walter made a comment that if it had been in the form of snow, we would have had 6 inches of the white stuff. I just heard that roads are closed all around the state. It is just starting to turn to snow here.

Day 320 Homeward Bound

Tuesday, November 16 – Here we are aboard Delta on our way home via Salt Lake. They had to route us that way instead of the usual straight through as there were so many people flying who had been bumped due to weather the day before. My window was very scratched, so the photos aren’t the clearest. It is good to be home, as my new computer and monitor arrived on Sunday also. F11 delivered it to Walter in person.

Day 319 Saturday Morning In Minneapolis

Monday, November 15 – I got back on Sunday from my excursion to Mayo Clinic and the Mall of America. All went well at the doc. I found out that I need knee surgery on my other knee which I am going to put off for as long as possible. The mall was as busy as ever. We were hit with one heck of a snow storm on Saturday. I am including photos of our view from the motel. Some are from our window, so aren’t the clearest. We stay across from the mall at the Fairfield Inn which is so nice. Aimee and I can walk back and forth that way. We ended up taking the shuttle for the first time when it was snowing so hard, but walked back which was an experience. I have a shot of IKEA before the storm and then after. You can just barely see it and that was when it was still good out. We couldn’t even see the parking lot an hour after this was taken.

Day 318 Chapel of The Holy Cross

Sunday, November 14 – Here is one of my very favorite places in Sedona. Curtis and Leslee took me here a couple of years ago and I fell in love with it then. I could not wait to treat everyone to it during our stay last month.  Becca took the photos of the candles inside. She and Emma got to light a candle each.  Good job shooting, Becca.  There is a gift shop downstairs even.  I have included shots from all angles so that you get an appreciation of how beautiful it is. A must see place to see in Sedona for sure.  I am so looking forward to shooting here again. It is a fantastic place to get sunsets/sunrises. I have a few that I shot with Curtis that are awesome. Make sure to click on the pics to get a closer view; especially that one from a distance. It shows how well planned the location is.

Day 317 Off To Do Some Shooting

Saturday, November 13 – Billi caught Becca and I setting off to do some shooting along the Grand Canyon south rim. What a great adventure we had.

Day 316 Emma’s Palm

Friday, November 12 – Emma found a palm tree to shoot and she did such a great job too.  Some nice backlighting there, girl. I really like your perspective looking up the tree.
