Day 72 Recital Time

Sunday, March 13 – Becca had a piano recital yesterday. She did a fantastic job and was very brave to get up there in front of a room of people and play her memorized pieces. Good work, Becca. Leslee and I had our annual  birthday luncheon yesterday. We chose Five Loaves this year and had a lovely meal and a great visit. It is something I always look forward to each year. This morning brought  news of an enormous earthquake in Japan with a resulting Tsunami.  There is now a threat of a leak at a nuclear plant. Hawaii was also hit with the big waves, but no report yet on damage. Prayers to all affected. My friend, Nancy is in Hawaii right now for her son’s wedding and emailed that they were being evacuated to higher ground.

Day 71 What a difference a day makes

Saturday, March 12 – Here is my shot of the sunrise this morning. Look at how the color was even reflected in the ice at our cattle guard. What a difference a day makes in colors. I wish there was a way one could tell if we were going to have a glorious sunrise or sunset. It is actually Thursday morning and I am on my way to lunch and then a piano recital. We had 4 more calves last night. The is 10 in a day. Nice thing is the weather is great.

Day 70 It’s Friday

Friday, March 11 – I am off to Missoula for the gymnastics meet; last one of the year and hopefully Becca will make it to state. Emma is unable to compete with her broken arm. The weather is fantastic, so we should have a great drive over. Might get a bit of shopping in too. I snapped this one on Wednesday morning and have another for tomorrow from this morning. Isn’t it great how our sunrises change from day to day. This one was golds and then the one for tomorrow — well, you will just have to wait and see.

Day 69 Girls, You Did Good!!

Thursday, March 10 – I found out this afternoon that Becca and Emma both won divisions in the Reflections program through the school. Becca won the photography division at Meadow Lark School for her picture of Bryton and Gage. She also got 2nds for both her poem and her painting. Emma won 1st for Meadow Lark School for her Painting and 2nd for her poem. She got an honorable mention for her photo of a statue in Fort Benton and went on to get 2nd at the State Level. I am so proud of them. I was with them when they shot these photos and they are such good photographers already. Girls, way to go!!! I think I might have posted their photos before, but I think they deserve to have a place today on my blog. The first will be Becca’s of the twins and the 2nd is of Emma’s statue. The theme was Lending A Hand, I believe.  I so enjoy shooting with you girls and watching how you have grown in your photography skills. It is a pleasure to work with you and I sure hope we can continue to share our love of taking pictures.

Day 68 One Last Look At White Stuff For Awhile, I Hope

Wednesday, March 9 – The weatherbug promises that we are in for some days of warmer weather and it is already up to 25 above here. I see that Great Falls is 8 still. There is hope!! It is coming your way, guys. Here is shot out my bedroom window of the cows ‘enjoying’ winter.I take that enjoying part very lightly. We raise them tough out here.  I am off to take Emma in for an Xray of her broken arm and a doc appointment. Then to Becca’s dress rehearsal for her piano recital. Busy day. We have our annual corporation meeting at Mom and Dad’s tomorrow. It will be good to see them.  Thursday has a luncheon and then recital. Then I am off  to Missoula for the weekend and Becca’s gymnastics meet. The guys will have to take care of those calving cows.  I need to do a shoot for my photography class and Missoula is a perfect spot for it. And I thought that March was going to be slow. Next week looks similar too.  My youngest has a birthday and I plan to get to Big Sky to help him celebrate. The Pioneer Woman is coming also and I have VIP tickets to go. Tiffany is coming  for that. Leslee and Kirsten are joining us. She  got tickets for her birthday.  Talked to a friend yesterday who is wanting to go to Antelope Canyon next winter. I think we will meet up there while I am in Sedona in January. I am so looking forward to going again this summer already. The date is even set for midJuly and I have a house ready. It will be so much fun seeing it through another photographer’s eyes, as Bonnie, the photographer I met there is going with me. Off and running!!

Day 67 Singing Shep

Tuesday, March 8 – Our goofy dog, Shep, does a pretty decent job of singing. Here are a couple shots for proof.

Day 66 Italy, Here I Come

Monday, March 7 – Yes, I have my tickets for my trip to Italy in May. As you might have noticed, I am not flying to Florence, as was planned. I got the thrill of a lifetime yesterday when Bryan Peterson called and asked me if I would like to meet him in Rome earlier than the workshop and drive with him to Florence through the countryside to get some extra shooting in. He also asked if I would like to spend a couple extra days with him shooting in Rome after the workshop. We are going to the Vatican and Colliseum.  Every workshop I have attended has been excellent and this one will be outstanding also, I am sure. To have the opportunity to shoot one on one with him is truly going to make this the trip of a lifetime. I still can’t believe that Bryan has offered this extra special treat. I was seriously thinking about not going until that phone call came.

Day 65 Happy Birthday to Leslee

Sunday, March 6 – Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Leslee. This one is for you. I hope you have a wonderful day and do something very special just for you.

Day 64 What Cuties

Saturday, March 5 – Some shots of Bryton and Gage; the 2 bales old cuties.  You guys make me giggle. You are so funny and cute.

Day 63 I Am So Proud

Friday, March 4 – I am so proud of my grandson, Chase. He sent me his first musical composition last night via YouTube. I gave him Sonar Studio for his birthday and he has been working diligently on getting a compositon up on the internet to share. You are such a talented guy, Chase, and I see big things in your future. I could not be more proud of you. Here is a shot from a while back that I did that he uses on his Facebook page.  I thought it was perfect to share it today on this special occasion.
