Day 122 The Queen, Her Servant and The Royal Dog

Monday, May 2 – Tristan, Lily and Emma had the best time during their sleepover at Grandma’s house. Lily was the Queen and Emma, her servant, waited on her while Tristan, the royal dog, howled. Part of that servitude required Emma reading books to them. They even had to have a  ‘playfood picnic’. We have sunshine and wind today and warmer temps. Hopefully the mud at the barn will begin to dry and the guys can get in the field before too many more days. It has been a long winter and I am more than ready for spring. Today was the day to turn off the heat lamps during the day on the chicks. So far, they seem to be warm enough. My new chicken coop has big windows that are letting the warm sunshine in for them and they seem to be enjoying it.

Day 121 May Day, Becca Style

Sunday, May 1 – Can you believe it is already May? Becca and a friend decided to paint their legs like ladybugs and I thought that would be a great picture for May Day. Thanks for sharing the photo, Becca.  When I was a little girl, we used to pick wild flowers (Yellow Bells and Rooster Heads)  and leave them at all the neighbors for May Day. I haven’t seen one wildflower this year yet. With flowers come lady bugs, so Becca, you are going to be my May Day greeting.
