Day 167 I Made It !!

Friday, June 15 – Here is a shot of that horrible path on the ledge that I braved to see Delicate Arch. I am still not sure how I did it. Was it worth it, oh, YES! After that uphill climb on slickrock there was no way I wasn’t going to finish the trek.

Day 166 What A Heart Stopping View

Thursday, June 14 – One of the scariest views yet, I believe. This is looking through Mesa Arch in Canyonlands. It was a bit of a hike to get here, but nothing like to Delicate Arch. The other side of this one is a shear cliff that drops nearly 2000ft. Some of the guys in our group were even brave enough to walk across that arch. CRAZY.

Day 165 View From Way Up High

Wednesday, June 13 -  Yes, I did get close to the edge this time. This was at Dead Horse Point. Legend says that horses used to be herded to this point and then brush was put up to block their exit, so they were in a makeshift corral. One time they were forgotten here and died from thirst. I have found if I look through the lens only, I can do these high photos. Mind over matter. Loved the pattern here.

Day 164 A Different Kind Of Shadow

Tuesday, June 12 – Another shadow of a different kind.

Day 163 Just Who Does That Look Like?

Monday, June 11 – This was taken at North Arch; the Windows Area. The shadow caught my eye right away. Not quite sure what it looks like; maybe a mother and child of some kind.

Day 162 Wide, Tight and Tighter

Sunday, May 10 – We were on our way to Landscape Arch before sunrise when this shot jumped out at me. I had to do some catching up with the group, but I think it was well worth it. I am not sure which I like best; wide, tight or tighter. What do you think? After shooting, I noticed I even captured a bird on the top of the tree. Lucky!

Day 161 What Crazy Things Photographers Do

Saturday, June 9 – One of the members of our group, I swear, is part Mountain Goat. He has no fear of high places and has an eye for shots that is just wonderful. He goes places I would never venture and it sure pays off for him.

Day 160 Canyonlands Sunset

Friday, June 8 – Carl and I decided to venture down the roadone evening to see if we could find a better shot of  the sunset that the group was shooting at one of the vistas. Little did we know that we were going to be treated to a much better capture from this vantage point. We got the colors that the rest did not get from their angle. A lucky decision. I have found that the colors sure fade fast here, unlike Montana.

Day 159 I Found The Mountain Of Gold

Thursday, June 7 – Nice weather here again today, but more thunderstorm for tomorrow. I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. My goodness do we ever have mud in the corrals. A shot from the Balance Rock area just at golden light time. It truly looked like a mountain of gold didn’t it? This is straight out of the camera too.

Day 158 A Secret Door To Where?

Wednesday, June 6 – This reminded me of a secret door in the cliff side. I love the oranges and reds of the stone in Arches. Reminds me of Sedona. Carl and I climbed up on a ledge to get this one. Hard to believe I did such brave things, isn’t it? Put a camera in my hands and I can do amazingly crazy things.
