Day 356 Happy Birthday, Brynn and Happy Anniversary, Bobbi and Gregg

Today is Brynn’s 11th birthday. We went shopping yesterday for a brand new pair of orange and yellow tennis shoes. Her favorite color is orange, just like me and Becca’s. Here are pictures with her big brother and sis. This is daughter, Bobbi and her hubby Gregg’s anniversary too. What a present Brynn was the year that she was born.

Day 355 I’m A Common Redstart

Found this little guy at Lake Manyara and thought he was pretty cute. It is a windy day today. I am just freezing and think hot chocolate might be in order.

Day 253 Flamingos

These are groups of Lesser Flamingos. I didn’t know there were flamingos in Africa. I also didn’t know that there were two kinds of the birds, Lesser and Greater. The lesser are more brightly colored and smaller.

Day 252 Taking a Bit of a Nap

Mr. Leopard was taking a brief nap when our guide spotted him. He was off the road quite a distance, so the photo isn’t as good as I wished. But you get the idea. They are very hard to spot, I think, unless you are a guide and used to seeing them. That is a Sausage tree he is in. The fruits are really heavy and not edible.  I would  not want to be hit by one, for sure. I have more photos of leopards with prey yet to come.make sure to click on the photos to enlarge.

Day 251 Agama Lizard

These little guys were very abundant in the Lobo region of Tanzania. The brightly colored one is the male, of course. Our guide told us that they need to be pretty to attract the ladies. By the way, Curtis, they are not Obama lizards That is what the natives called us – Obama, whenever they saw us and it was not in a negative tone.

Day 250 Bat-eared Fox

What a find this was! Only our vehicle group of 4 actually got to see it and I was the one who spotted this bat-eared fox. Not much cooperation for posing though, but you can definitely see that he is indeed a bat-eared fox. All the begging in the world wouldn’t get him to come out from behind the embankment. Most of the time, he had his head down and just the ears were showing. I was thrilled to finally get a proof of animal shot when he turned his head. Tom was so jealous that we found him.

Day 249 What Big Teeth You Have, My Dear

Not sure if this lion was yawning or roaring.

Day 248 Yummy

Doesn’t this cheetah look like he/she is enjoying his/her lunch?

Day 347 Jade’s Cousin?

This is definitely a feline. Makes you want to reach out and touch him. He even sleeps like Jade. The Africa photos just never seem to end. I have so many more to share and some I haven’t even looked at yet.
