Day 263 Hello There, Ms. Alpaca

I recently enjoyed a trip to Lewistown’s Chokecherry Festival. What a fun time! I found some beautiful alpaca head bands to buy for the coming cold weather. The booth had brought along some of the exquisite animals that furnish the wool for spinning into the soft yarn.

Day 259 My Daughter, The Athlete

I can hardly wrap my mind around the feat that my daughter just accomplished. She completed the Park 2 Park bicycle ride from Glacier to Yellowstone. It took 5 days and she never once road in the van. Lots of the participants did take a break on occasion. She was bound and determined to ride the entire way and she did. I am so proud of her accomplishment. She had a little sunburn and a sore knee is all.

Day 256 Nevermore

Spotted this raven at Yellowstone while driving the Firehole Lake loop.  The little guy obviously knows how to beg for food.

Day 255 A Little Geyser Pool and Steam Vent

This small geyser pool and steam vent were right along the highway. I’m off to work cattle today and then Family Night at Highgate awaits.Still having internet issues. Trying the hub from Verizon and so far, it has not worked. I have my little portable usb hub and that is limping along. Takes forever to upload a photo, so that might not be happening very often until I get something decent, if that is even going to happen. Not sounding very promising right now. Guess I will be heading to town to do my homework for my two classes. Frustrating!!!

Day 254 The Whistle Stop

I took one of my daughter’s to West Glacier yesterday to ride in the park to park event. She will spend the next 5 days riding around a 100 miles per day on her way to West Yellowstone. I am so envious of how physically fit she is. I wish I had taken better care of my body in my younger years; both physically and in what I ate. What an experience she is going to have this week. We stopped in East Glacier to have lunch on the way at one of my favorite spots, The Whistle Stop Cafe. Denny, the owner, used to have Mozart’s in Great Falls and still brings his wonderful pastries to the Farmer’s Market. I enjoyed this Barbecued Chicken Sandwich and followed it up with a piece of yummy Huckleberry Pie. iPhone images.
