Day 145 Green-crowned Billiant
Another one of the pretty hummingbirds that frequented the feeders in Ecuador. It was a waiting game to catch them on the branched for better photos.

This Buff-tailed Coronet wants his picture taken, don’t you think? His colors almost glowed when the light hit him just right.
Talk about an example of camouflage. This little Strong-billed Woodcreeper was very hard to see as he worked on getting his dinner from this tree.
I have no idea what the name of this flower really is, but the group referred to it as the strawberry flower. And I think you can obviously see why. The hummingbirds loved it, so it must have been very sweet.
The coronet hummingbird lands with it’s wings up. A unique trait that helps identify the bird when you are out shooting. This branch was a favorite of lots of the birds – remember it from the sylph photos?
I decided it would be a good idea to try out the snack food available on the plane on my way to South America. Surprisingly, it was not too bad. Pricey though.
Here is Dad too at the Barbecue. I am not sure he would be excited with being included here. He is still struggling with his loss of sight. I can not imagine not being able to read those books he loved so much. He gets around by himself though and is healthy.
Here is Mom at the Highgate Senior Living Barbecue. She has been living there for over a year and doing great. In fact, she has gained 20 pounds and has never been sick. A cell phone image that isn’t the greatest.
This pair of Blue-gray Tanagers was certainly enjoying their breakfast of bananas. The lodges we stayed at were very good about having feeders ready at all times of day.
