Day 103 Post Easter Day

Monday, April 13th

We had a lovely dinner at the Grand Union with friends and returned the kids home after. We stopped by the steam museum for a little while to scout out photo possibilities. Tristan had a great Easter and we even got to spend time with Lily. I just got in from doing chores which consists mainly of checking the few remaining calving cows, feeding the steers and bottle feeding my calf. I am pooped tonight; guess I need to catch up on my sleep. There is a luncheon at a friend’s house tomorrow that I am so looking forward to.  I shot these of Tristan before he went home. He can be such a little stinker to get to pose.

Day 102 Happy Easter

Have Tristan here, so this posting had to work around chores and breakfast and entertaining the kiddo. We had an Easter egg hunt last night at Carl and Roberta’s. Her sis is here with her hubby and three children. The kids had so much fun searching out the 100s of eggs that we hid. They all ended up with brim full baskets. I wanted to get an action shot and this one of Marilynn is about as close as I managed. We did manage to avoid the rain showers that had been floating around.  Carl got Tristan a kite for his birthday and Grandpa helped him fly it for the first time after the big egg hunt.

Day 101 A Balancing Act

I just had to share these shots. When the hired man dumped a couple of bales off up here by my house, he had one roll just right to balance on an edge.  I thought it would make a pretty cool composition in the early morning light. As of tonight, it is cow dinner. Had a crazy day today. Found a cow laying on her back by the feeder this morning; dying. Put a call in to Walter and we got her uprighted in time. We lost one earlier that way. When they are very pregnant and try to reach around to lick an itch on their back, they roll over and can’t get uprighted. They die in a pretty short period of time, as they bloat and therefore, can not breath. I have just 20 cows left to calve which is such a relief. What a busy week it has been – Marilynn survived her tonsils being removed, Carl turned 39 and Chase became a teenager.

Day 100 April 10, 2009

I can hardly believe there have been 100 days now that I have been posting pictures every day. I feel very accomplished!! Marilynn went home this am and is doing okay. Her fever broke last night, so the doc said it was a go. I am so relieved. We will have Tristan this weekend and then go to the Grand Union for Easter dinner. I have a big photo shoot planned for him while he is here. Thought I would share one more shot of Lily that I took last Sunday.

My computer seems to be up and running again. I went in to Sullivans this morning and worked with Mark until we got it going again. There is a problem with my satellite provider, but we think we have it fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Day 99 Pinecone with Specular Highlight

Here is a photo I used for class that I thought I would share. Who knows when I will get email again and I am just hoping that this one goes up.

Update

Talked to the doc tonight and he says that her fever is from her lungs reacting to the anesthesia. She did eat 1/2 a popsickle tonight and drank a little. Hopefully by tomorrow she will be feeling good enough to go home. She looks so much sicker today than the photos I posted. She is where she needs to be and I am glad for that.

I called WildBlue today to get my email straightened out and oh, boy, is it ever a mess. The lady that helped me totally has it messed up now. I have no way to get to my email at all now. She told me sorry, I would just have to get a hold of my computer tech and have him try to figure it out. I wish that I had just left it alone. There is no way for me to even get there; Mozilla doesn’t work nor does Explorer. I don’t know what I will do next. Anyway, no emails for now. I am just luck I can get to here.

An Update

Marilynn didn’t go home today from the hospital. She is running a temp of 102.5 and won’t eat. I am worried sick!!

Day 98 They’re Gone!

Marilynn had her tonsils removed this morning. She was such a brave little girl too. I spent the day at the hospital feeding her ice chips. Funny how that anticipated ice cream just didn’t sound good anymore. I couldn’t help getting a shot of her "ET" finger to share.  She got a visit from her best friend, Katie, after school , which was the highlight of her day.  She was finally going to sleep when Walter and I left tonight. Her own bed will be pretty welcomed tomorrow and maybe ice cream will finally be on the menu.

Day 97 What a little guy does after fishing

I am going to post this a day early, as my computer is really acting weird tonight and it might not be working at all by morning. Had a lovely lunch today at Fuddruckers with two dear friends and even had Tristan along. I took this one of him last night when he was washing the fishing mud off before we went to dinner at the Grand Union.

Day 96 Lily Jade

We spent yesterday afternoon and evening in Fort Benton with Kristie and the kids. Grandpon had to deliver the birthday boy’s gifts that got delayed due to the blizzard a week ago. An wonderful meal at the Grand Union was enjoyed too. Here are some shots of Lily Jade. She is 4 months already and so darned cute.
