Day 254 Best Buddies

Friday, September 11 – Marilynn and Katie, best buddies, having fun together. The second photo is not the best, as the lighting in that building is horrid. But I still like the expressions of pure joy on those two little faces. I used the first photo for class and the instructor had lots of praise for it. It is so smoky out today. There is a big wildfire burning by Holter Lake.  It started at a campground/RV park and burned some trailers there. Looks like a nasty one. The last time I went to Helena it was so dry there. I am sure that is not helping the situation. I am off to move some cows this morning, as the fence finally got fixed so they will stay in. My sis and I spent yesterday cleaning out a shed full of old ‘stuff’ for Mom and Dad. We had a whole pickup load to haul to the dump. I came home with some treasures; an antique (my mom’s) baby carriage and my mom’s red wagon. Both will be great for photo props.

Day 253 If Only I Had A Key!

Thursday, September 10 – This is a capture of my sister’s grandson at the steam museum. He loved pretending to drive the old cars and trucks. This old jeep had a broken side window that wouldn’t roll down, so I shot through the glass. I rather like the cloudy effect. You sure can tell he was having a wonderful time. I had my photography class instructor take a look and she loved them and even suggested that I use one for part of my final assignment.

Day 252 My Little Monkey

Wednesday, September 9 – Here is Emma in her favorite place to be;  a tree in the backyard. She is such a little monkey. I took this one using a reflector to shine the light into the shade of the tree. What a fun child to photograph.

Day 251 Posing

Tuesday, September 8 -Becca loves to post, as does her sis.  Here is a shot I took of her at Gibson Park. Considering that I took this outside with no reflector, I think it looks pretty good. I would like to remove that shadowing around her eyes and brighten her up some though. i might have to do a little post processing on this one.  She is growing up to be such a beautiful girl.  What a lucky grandma I am to have such gorgeous kiddos to have as models. We just took it easy this three day weekend. Walter had book work to catch up on and I worked on photos. My new class on color theory starts this week and I am excited about that. The weather has been great too. I leave for Portland in just about a month now for my photo workshop with Bryan Peterson. That is going to be the highlight of my year.

Day 250 Happy Birthday, Tiffany

Monday, September 7 – In honor of Tiffany’s birthday which is actually today (Sunday, Sept. 6) here is a flower that I took at Gibson park this week.  I am not sure what these pink flowers were, but they smelled wonderful and the bees were just loving them. This little guy has the funniest little wings. Be sure to click on the photo to see him closer.  Happy Birthday, Tiffany.

Day 249 Marilynn Returns

Sunday, September 6 – Some more of those shots of Marilynn I took at the museum.  I have it narrowed down to 13 now to chose from for my last class assignment.

Day 248 Racing To The Moon

Saturday, September 5 – There was a gorgeous full moon last night, as well as a bright red sun going down. I guess there must be a fire somewhere for that effect. I was in town and couldn’t get to a place fast enough to shoot that sun, but got this of the moon on my way home.  It looks like this school bus could be taking the passengers for a quick trip to see the moon.  The first two photos are right be where the old Bar S was and the last one was on my private road to the house. Had Becca and Emma here after school yesterday to pet/chase kittens again. I think those two would sit there all day if allowed. They did succeed in catching Tiger, Kit Kat, Scout Jr. and Hershey; all very original names, don’t you think? We went to Goode’s for supper and had some awesome Barbecue. Did a photo shoot with a friend earlier in the day of a 5 month old boy who was as cute as a bug. I have my photos to go through today and get submitted for class. Then maybe will head up to our cabin for some relaxation.

Day 247 What A Hat!!

Friday, September 3 – This is from Wednesday’s Museum shoot. Marilynn was dressed in her finery and added this hat which I think is sensational. Can’t help but love those big blue eyes of hers. I think you could say it runs in the family. Make sure to click on the photo to see those beautiful eyes. I had Emma and Becca this afternoon and we spent some time at Gibson park. They are coming home with me again tomorrow to play with the kittens at the barn. I think the camera is going to get another workout for sure. It was 97 here today and I see it is 83 right now. What a miserable day for kiddos in school.

Day 246 The Ghost Returns

Thursday, September 3 – Here is the famous Ghost kitty that appears in puzzle form on that pole on the opening page of my website. He has never climbed up there again, to my knowledge. He was lounging in front of the barn and I just had to get a shot of my trademark. I took Marilynn down to the museum today to do photos. My sis came out with her grandson and Jenn brought three of her children too. We had such a good time and, hopefully, I got some photos to use for my final class assignment. It was around 90 today, so not the best weather for doing a shoot with children. I did some hands shots when we got back to my house. She is a very cooperative model. I am having lunch with Leslee and then babysitting tomorrow night. So if my photos didn’t work out today, I can do another shoot tomorrow with Emma.

Day 245 Those Big Loud Tractors

Wednesday, September 2 – This will be the day I do my photo shoot with Marilynn. I have shot all the other grandkids, now it is her turn. My sis is bringing her grandson out too, to get some photos of him for Christmas gifts too. So my camera is going to be busy this afternoon. Though they are now retired and silent, at one time, these big steam engines were very loud. I liked this emblem on the front of an Avery tractor. The 2nd shot is of some of the tractors lined up in the big shed.  It is beautiful today again; 90 right now. It is supposed to be like this all week. We got a little shot of rain last night.
