Day 69 Jade Makes A Visit

Wednesday, March 10 – It has been a while since Jade has been featured. So I thought I would share a couple from my light assignment. Doesn’t she have the most beautiful blue eyes? It is hard to believe that we have had her for two years now. She will never take Tripod’s place and never was supposed to. She is a one sweet little cat that we love so much. I will always wonder who didn’t want her and why she was dumped at the animal shelter. Thank heavens that Leslie at PetPawSee has the big heart she does to rescue her. And an additional thanks to Dr. Micki for knowing she was perfect for me.

Day 68 A Bit Of Winter Returns

Tuesday, March 9 – We woke to a skiff of snow this morning. It is right at 30 degees and feels miserable compared to the 50s we have been having. We had two calves yesterday afternoon and one during the night, so I figured it would do something. We had Tristan and Lily all night last night. Their mom and dad went to dinner and decided the kids would have fun staying, as Nick was coming this morning to town for chef stuff. They just left and my, oh, my, is the house quiet. Here are those tree shots I got the other morning at the barn. The first one is the perfect from class.

Day 67 Is Spring On It’s Way?

Monday, March 8 – With the temps hanging right at 60 lately, I am almost thinking spring is really going to come sooner rather than later. A little change is supposed to hit tonight and tomorrow. We went to Suki’s last night for supper and it was so good. I had a Black Pepper Chicken and Walter had a Ginger Chicken something. Billi had Pad Thai and Brad had the most awesome Red Curry. I am definitely going to have to order it next time. They also have green Curry and yellow Curry that both sound so good. Here is a photo that I used for my class this last week. Makes me think spring for sure, but the daffodil was courtesy of Van’s IGA. I received perfects on all three of my class photos this week. I used that one of the golden light and another that I will be posting tomorrow. This next week is Line and I have them all taken already. I did a bunch this weekend to get it done. Good thing, as my knee is really causing fits lately. I might have to resort to steroid injections yet.

Day 66 Early Morning Sunbathing

Sunday, March 7 – Happy Birthday to my friend, Leslee. It is her birthday today and I am posting for tomorrow, a day ahead. The barn cats are enjoying our spring-like weather and every morning is spent sitting on the fence sunbathing after they eat their breakfast. Here are some shots with my G11. Getting cats to pose is another thing entirely. You can call “kitty, kitty” all you want and if they don’t feel like looking they won’t. So there are several who just turned their backs at me. Maybe they were just waiting to get some sun on their backsides.

Day 65 That Golden Sunrise

Saturday, March 6 – Shot this one of my favorite front yard trees yesterday morning on the way to the barn. I love how golden the light was on the grass and trees. This was with my G11. I usually take of the sunrise itself, but decided to capture some of that golden light in a different way. I tried to shoot it vertically also, but I couldn’t get that moon in the photo and all the tree too. The spring like weather is holding so far. We got a few sprinkles last night is all; no snow or rain.

Day 64 Birds On The Wing

Friday, March 5 – Here are several shots of birds that were surrounding the ship as we came in to the Panama Canal just at dawn. The last shot is later in the afternoon when the sun came up and we actually had blue sky. Curits can probably tell me what kind of bird these are. I moved the heifers home today for calving. We have two so far and both are tiny and healthy; just the way I want them. I will start going down at night to check on them. There are supposed to be rain showers on Friday, so that change might bring on calves. The corrals are just starting to get some dry spots, so I wish the rain would stay away. My leg is really sore tonight after being out and about all day. Trudging through thick mud isn’t the best thing for it, I guess. Motrin is in order tonight for sure.

Day 63 An Old Fortress Wall

Thursday, March 4 – This old wall was downtown in Cartagena. As you can see from the closeup, it was built in 1614.  This seemed to be a great area to relax in, as you can see from the third shot.

Day 62 Wall To Wall

Wednesday, March 3 – When we were first sailing into Cartagena, Columbia, we thought we could see highrise office buildings in the distance. These are not office buildings, but condos that are mostly American built according to our tour guide. We actually got to drive right by them and they are literally wall to wall right to the ocean. All of them have parking underneath.  The bay where we docked is L shaped as you can see.

Day 61 The Boys Are Back!

Tuesday, March 2 – Here are some shots of Bryton and Gage that Tiffany shot at my house this weekend with my Canon Rebel XT. She is wanting to get a new camera and is trying it out for awhile. I think she did a fantastic job with her first try with a DSLR.  Gage is the quiet one and is also three pounds heavier. He is very cautious when he walks. Bryton is the noisier one and just goes and goes like a windup toy. He has so many bruises from falling down. He is definitely the dominant one and runs right over his brother. He loves to twist Gage’s ears and hear him scream.  Little stinker!! Poor little Gage has a bruise on his cheek from when Bryton pushed him down. It sure brings back memories of when Bobbi and Billi were that age.
