Day 256 Out For A Early Morning Stroll

Monday, September 13 – What a beautiful morning for an early morning stroll in the sunlight. Babies were not far behind in the tall grass. It has been such a fantastic year for moisture and therefore, abundant foliage. Hopefully this week will bring some drying winds so that the barley can be finished and the 2nd cutting alfalfa baled.

Day 255 On Our Way

Sunday, September 12 – I shot this one on our way through Wolf Creek Canyon with the final destination being Bozeman.  Spent a lovely day with friends, Leslee and Curtis, shopping and eating. Can’t beat a stop at World Market and F-11 to make one’s day!  I got my new computer ordered and it should be here within the week.  I so wish we had a camera store like that here in Great Falls(and an Apple dealer, to boot).

Day 254 Very Dreary Weather

Saturday, September 11 – What a dreary day it was today!! Shot this one over by Highwood. The clouds were right down low. Everywhere you look there are bales of either straw or hay. There is a combine right behind those bales waiting to start cutting. What great crops we had this year. It is just too bad that the prices aren’t better. I feel very sorry for the farmers who still have spring grain out in the fields waiting to be harvested. No cooperation from the weather, but everything is sure staying green.

Day 253 Bring On The Rain!!

Friday, September 10 – Tristan’s mom got him a brand new umbrella, which is something he has been wanting for months now. It was forecast to rain last night, so he got it out and practiced opening and shutting it for going to school tomorrow. Of course, what little boy could help but doing a little twirling it around too. Tristan was right too, it is raining cats and dogs today and he got to walk to school using his umbrella.

Day 252 Please Let Me Have A Turn

Thursday, September 9 – Tristan is not the best with sharing, as you can see from this photo. Lily was begging to have a turn and the tears were flowing freely. I can not believe how itouch savy she is. That little stinker knows her way around those apps. It makes a great incentive for room cleaning and being nice to each other. Rain forecast for the rest of the week. I wonder if Carl will ever get his barley in? He certainly is not alone though. There are so many crops waiting to ripen, especially in the Highwood/Fort Benton area.

Day 251 Sara’s Favorite

Wednesday, September 8 – I delivered the wedding pictures to the mother of the bride yesterday. This is the photo that is her favorite.  She is sending it to her brothers and sisters who are still in the colony. I did a book for the bride of my favorite 200 photos which the mom liked so much that she asked if I would do one for her also. I have never seen people so excited with photos. I wonder which the bride is going to like best? It was a fun project and made a great wedding gift.

Day 250 Looking Toward Fall

Tuesday, September 7 – Fall is definitely in the air. I just talked to Mom and it was 35 degrees there this morning. Soon we will be seeing the beautiful colors in the mountains again, I hope. We missed that several years in the past when it froze first and the leaves never had a chance to turn.My sis hiked up to our homestead in the Highwoods Friday and it is still green there.  It is a gorgeous day out, but the forecast calls for more rain later this week. I finished all the wedding photos yesterday and delivered them to the bride’s mother. The whole family seemed thrilled with them. It was fun watching them all crowded around and remembering that day. I shot this photo at Augusta on my way home from Freeze Out with Leslee and Curtis. What an excellent photo op day that was!

Day 249 Happy Birthday, Tiffany

Monday, September 6 – Today is your birthday, Tiffany!! Hope you have a wonderful day. Don’t know how relaxing it will be with the ‘wrecking crew’ underfoot. Hope you got to do something pampering for yourself today. These little guys remind me of your two. I think that this doe has had her hands full at times this summer too. Aren’t you glad that your two are confined – that you don’t have to chase them all over the hillsides?

.

Day 248 Still Trying To Set On

Sunday, September 5 – The pumpkins are still blooming like crazy in my little garden bed. There is not much hope for the fruit to set on and make it to maturity though this late in the season. We are supposed to have a nice warm labor day weekend before a change to cooler temps.

.

Day 247 A Couple of Cuties

Saturday, September 4 – The deer were out in force this morning. The fawns at the barn are getting bigger every day. Bryton and Gage  say ‘bam’ when they see them. They are future little hunters for sure. Their daddy would be proud!!
