Day 51 I Miss You Already

Sunday, February 20 – Tiffany left with the boys this morning. The plan had been to go last night, but the weather was horrid. We had a birthday party here yesterday for them and what a great time they had. Being 2 is the Cat’s Meow! Cousins Brooke and Emma spent the night too, so we had a full house. I miss you two, so much, already. The house is not the same when you are not here. Will be seeing you in just a couple of weeks again. Happy 2 Bales!!

Day 50 Crazy Stuff

Saturday, February 19 – Right by Cabelas in Utah is a hill that must be a favorite for hang gliders and parasailers. Here are a couple shots I took from the truck window as we sped by. You could not pay me enough to do this.

Day 49 Well, Hello There

Friday, February 18 – As we were heading home from Idaho Falls, there on the overpass was a cowgirl, at least I think it was a girl, riding her horse, waving at the cars. Just not something you see often.

Day 48 I Love Riding A Giraffe

Thursday, February 18 – Not sure what you call a boy that rides a giraffe; maybe a giraffeboy instead of a cowboy.  Here is cutie, Bryton, who just turned that important 2 years old, riding the giraffe at Grandma’s house.

Day 47 Two Bales

Wednesday, February 16 – Bryton and Gage just recently turned 2 and are very proud of the fact. Bryton will tell you he is 2, but Gage is another story. He is a true Rancher’s son; he says he is 2 bales. He and his daddy feed cows every morning and the truck carries 2 bales. So I am guessing that is where it come from. A response that Tiffany needs to record. I told her she needs to keep a diary of all the antics.

Day 46 Walking On Air

Tuesday, February 15 – I shot this bird at Bryce Canyon. He/she was traveling down the fence that served as a guard rail overlooking the canyon. He had just stepped off and there he is almost in midair. We are staying in Idaho Falls tonight at the Red Lion. What a great place all the rooms are pie shaped and huge. The pets are loving it here. I wouldn’t mind spending some time here in the future. We had a great time at Cabelas and IKEA for the second time. I was disappointed at Cabelas, as they didn’t have the things that we were looking for. I think it might be better to order from their catalog or online.

Day 45 – Walter Is Craving This

Monday, February 14 – We should be back home in Montana by now. I knew we would  be busy on the road and might not have time to upload pictures here. We went to what is considered the best two restaurants here; Dahl & DiLuca and Cucina Rustica. Both were excellent. We had our own private little room at Dahl & DeLucca.  Here is a shot of one of the meals we had. I don’t remember what Walter’s dish was called. Everything was in Italian. Mine was Piccata and they made it especially for me with chicken instead of veal. The veggie was cauliflower with fennel and was excellent. Their desserts are decadent! Walter is definitely going to miss this food.  Lisa Dahl, the executive chef, has a new cookbook out which I bought and it is fabulous. I even got her to sign it for me.

Day 44 Found Cherries in Sedona

Sunday, February 13- This picture is for my good friend, Cheryl. They had this awesome sign at the Red Rock Barbecue and I even had to go back a 2nd time to get a shot of it. Sorry for the glare. They had a spot light on it and I couldn’t turn it off. I embarrassed Walter by asking for the table close to it even.

Day 43 Goodbye 136 Horse Ranch Road

Saturday, February 12 – We are on the road by now heading  back to Montana. Plans are for a visit to Bryce and Zion canyons on the way from Saint George and then on to Draper and a much awaited IKEA visit. We have lots of room in the pickup topper for “stuff” that I have been wanting and unable to carry on a plane from Minnesota. I am sure Walter is going to head for Cabelas too. Here are a couple of shots of our house in Sedona. We loved it here and enjoyed this home so much. I am not sure if we will be back here or not, as I have met a photographer here who has a home she has offered us next year that is right down the road and absolutely awesome.

Day 42 – A Very Scary Experience

Friday, February 11 -  Here are the shots I took in Jerome, AZ. Not a place I plan to go back to real soon. I found the road up and back almost as scary as Going To The Sun. This is an old mining town that they built right on the mountain side. The fronts of houses are on stilts even. The road winds up that steep grade with no guard rails. I kept my eyes shut most of the time and hyperventilated. Yes, I know, why did I go? Walter thought it would be a good experience. The lunch was good, but not that good. I took a shot of the carrot cake he had a piece of before we left.  It was in a case, so the pic is not that great. I am including two shots of the old burned out bank building where they have miscellaneous items, like an outhouse and a toilet, for people to toss coins in. Really strange, but there was a whole of money down there.Lots of interesting signs and buildings here.
