Day 45 – Walter Is Craving This
Monday, February 14 – We should be back home in Montana by now. I knew we would be busy on the road and might not have time to upload pictures here. We went to what is considered the best two restaurants here; Dahl & DiLuca and Cucina Rustica. Both were excellent. We had our own private little room at Dahl & DeLucca. Here is a shot of one of the meals we had. I don’t remember what Walter’s dish was called. Everything was in Italian. Mine was Piccata and they made it especially for me with chicken instead of veal. The veggie was cauliflower with fennel and was excellent. Their desserts are decadent! Walter is definitely going to miss this food. Lisa Dahl, the executive chef, has a new cookbook out which I bought and it is fabulous. I even got her to sign it for me.

YUM! Is Lisa Dahl’s cookbook one that a newbie to Italian cooking could pick up and use?
Yes, it is. It is a picture book too, so lots of beautiful photos. I will show you when you come to visit. It has a CD of the music they play at the restaurant in the back too. Food was outstanding there.
I would love it if it is a picture book since I’m such a visual learner. I can’t wait to see it when I come visit!! I love Italian food but would really like to try to cook true Italian food that isn’t so Americanized.
