These Banded Mongoose were very hard to take a shot of. They were very shy and quick moving. We also saw some Dwarf Mongoose.

They blend in so easily with their surroundings.
There are lots of mongoose in Hawai’i, but not this kind. Some smart thinker brought over a bunch to kill the rats that the ships had brought. But Rats are nocturnal, the mongoose aren’t, so they ignore each other. They were thicker than squirrels!
