Day 121 Sword-billed Hummingbird
This beauty was residing at the Guango Lodge where we stayed for two days after crossing the Continental Divide. The East Andes are 12,800 ft at the highway summit. A beautiful place, but rather cool. They gave us hot water bottles at night to sleep with. Watching this little guy suck up the hummingbird nectar was a real treat. I was lucky to get a shot as soon as we got off the bus, as he seemed to be just waiting for our arrival. Our transportation was  in a big bus that normally holds 40 people. Our group of 10 plus Tom got to spread out and bring all our gear onboard. We had a fabulous local guide, Luis, who was wonderful with his knowledge of the area.
