Day 309 Kori Bustard
Monday, November 5 – The Kori Bustard is one of the world’s heaviest flying birds. Â We saw them frequently. There are birds that are larger, but none that weigh more that fly. The males weigh around 30#, but have been recorded up to 88#. They have a 9 ft. wingspan and stand 4.9 ft. Â tall. Tiff and the boys went home today and I already miss them. It was a fun week with the little cowboys and their mom. We went out to Power this morning to volunteer for Bountiful Baskets. I missed the crew out there while I was gone. It is a great social time, in addition to the workout one gets. The produce this week is outstanding. Got the baskets delivered to my girls and then headed home to try to get motivated to look through more photos.

Interesting looking bird!!!! Why does it weigh so much and how much do they weigh???
Just added that info to my post. Thanks for asking, Leslee.
It looks like a fly tier’s treasure trove! Nice photos.
